Hello!

My name is Gabriela and I am a former teacher’s assistant turn freelance character designer and illustrator based out of Southern California. My hobbies include art, storytelling, embroidery, sewing, flower arranging, hiking, trying new things, and stargazing.

Experience

I worked as a Teacher’s Assistant for 2 years at Bethel Christian School (Located in Lancaster, California) from 2019 - 2021.

Artistically speaking, I have had the pleasure of participating in many Zines (Fan Magazines) over the years, along with so many talented artists and writers. Many of these projects had artists working together to create something beyond ourselves. We all worked under a deadline to get our projects released on time for the entertainment and consumption of others online.

Below are links to the various Zines I have participated in over the years:

2017

2018

2019/2020

I am currently developing a webcomic in collaboration with a friend called, Once There Were Heroes, that is being released this year.

Skills & Strengths

My strengths are communication, teamwork, organization, creativity, punctuality , motivation, positivity, and persistence.

Proficiency

I am proficient in Photoshop, Procreate, and Google Suite. I also have working knowledge of Adobe InDesign and Illustrator. I am a fast learner and I am ready to take on any challenge if given the opportunity.

Education

For 7 years I learned under Mrs. Alicia Garver, a fine arts teacher based in southern California. When I graduated high school I pursued online art classes through CG Masters Academy and Schoolism. These courses have equipped me in many ways as an artist over the years. More than that, they have given me special insight into the industry, as the teachers instructing these classes have hands-on experience in the field. In the field of learning I am always expanding my horizons. I believe we never stop learning, no matter how far we may come in a certain field.
